The Pilates Club Story

The Pilates Club was started in 2010 by Becky to create a fun environment to practice Pilates Mat work. The Pilates Club works to get you mobile, flexible and feeling good about your body. Over the years, The Pilates Club has grown from a few classes a week to offering Workshops and Retreats. We believe that Pilates is the path to a fuller, more satisfying physical existence. We believe that being in control of your body helps you to be in control of your life. And best of all, we believe that you can start anytime, live or online.
But enough about us — let’s talk about you. Whether you are fit, injured or just need a little maintenance, get in touch and we’ll find the best class for you.

Becky
I have now been teaching for over 14 years and yet every week I learn something new about our amazing bodies and how Pilates can help to keep us strong and flexible. Joseph Pilates used a stick to poke and slap his students into the correct positions; I’m a lot more laid-back and prefer kind words and helpful demos as well as a laugh or two along the way. Once upon a time I lived in the corporate world but after breaking my ankle and finding the restorative powers of Pilates, I retrained and here I am! Trained by Stott, a Canadian based Pilates group, working with other instructors and attending various workshops every year, I keep classes fresh and challenging for everyone at every level.

As a trapeze artist, stilt walker and fire eater, I have used Pilates to repair and rebuild my body over the years. Now I am keen to pass on my knowledge and learnings as a Pilates instructor and have been doing so for over 6 years. Trained by Stott, a Canadian based Pilates group, I constantly add in some of my professional learnings to keep students motivated and moving.

Back injuries brought me to Pilates, which has helped me through some painful episodes over the years. I enjoyed the process of Pilates so much that whilst at classes with Becky I decided to study and qualify as a Pilates Instructor. That was over 8 years ago and now I am happily teaching Pilates on a daily basis and improving people's movement all the time. Currently I’m teaching in Ireland so you may see me on one of the Retreats or Workshops soon. Trained by Stott, a Canadian based Pilates group.
"Small classes and an instructor who understands not only your body but you as a person makes this the ideal Pilates experience. I have undergone two serious knee surgeries during my time with Becky. Her modifications to the exercises not only helped me prevent further damage but strengthened the supportive muscles. My consultant and physiotherapist both commented on the strength and tone and I was back at classes after six weeks. Classes are friendly, fun and fast-moving whilst still being informative and well-considered. As you progress you achieve a better understanding of your own body. I firmly believe that mine is in better shape than ever before. Thanks Becky."
